Dr. Robert Gire is an orthodontist and owner of Gire Orthodontics. He has a private practice in La Habra and Chino Hills. Dr. Gire is La Habra's only Board Certified Orthodontist and he treats children and adults. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Southern California, Ostrow School of Dentistry. Dr. Gire graduated in the top 5% of his class and was accepted into the prestigious United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. Dr. Gire is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He sits as the Chairman of the Friends of Family Health Center's Board of Directors.
David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Azusa Pacific University and is currently retired from the City of La Habra where he oversaw special events, youth and adult sports, trips and tours and served as a liaison to local non-profits. David has more than 25 years of experience at the local and state level of government and has been working in the field of recreation for over 25 years as his contribution for youth development and social change. In 2011, David was awarded the Ed Baldwin Spirit of SCMAF Award and is President and Chairman of the Board for the Cal South Soccer Foundationn, among other activities.
Salvador H. Cervantes studied Political Science and Latin American Literature at Columbia University. Mr. Cervantes has worked as a Realtor, a community worker for the City of Norwalk and as office manager for a medical clinic at the Stanford Medical Center. Growing up, Mr. Cervantes and his family lived in Salinas where they all worked in the fields. Currently he is an active member of his local community and dedicates his time to helping those most in need on their journey to recovery as with finding employment, housing and reintegration into the community. He is happily married and is a father of three.
Otolaryngologist Tyson Shih, M.D., is a highly regarded Board Certified ear, nose and throat specialist with more than 20 years of experience. He attended Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California, where he obtained his medical degree and completed his residency in the field of Otolaryngology.
Along with his expertise in treating ear, nose and throat disorders, Dr. Shih is specialize in disorders of the head and neck ranging from hearing loss to cancer. Dr. Shih operates his own private practice in Pomona, and is affiliated with Pomona Valley Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, and other hospitals in the Inland Empire are.
Elizabeth Walker started work in the Medical Staff Office of Hawaiian Gardens Hospital in 1983, then accepted a full-time position in the Medical Staff Office and Human Resources Office at Greater El Monte Community Hospital. She then became the Director of Human Resources and served for 17 years in this position. She was awarded Manager of the year and subsequently selected to be a Corporate Compliance Officer for the Tenet Healthcare system. She grew up in the Norwalk/La Mirada area and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona. She is now retired and volunteering as a Board Member for the Friends of Family Health Center.
Kathy received “The President’s Call to Service Award” The Lifetime Award is the highest Award given to volunteers, by the President of the United States - George W. Bush.
Some of her volunteer efforts include La Habra Heights Fire Dept. Rehab Team member, Emergency Preparedness Committee Chairman, Parks & Rec. Commissioner, LA Co. Sheriff’s Volunteer, La Habra Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee, and continues to serve with her LDS faith based service in Humanitarian efforts, La Mirada's Disaster Steering Committee, La Mirada's (advanced) A-CERT, LA Habra Heights Fire Safe Council/Firewatch, she was recently appointed as the La Habra Heights Red Cross Ambassador & DAT (disaster action team) member. Kathy finds great joy in spending time with her family, husband of 40 years, six adult children and five grandchildren.
Mojgan Manshadi is an independent consultant assisting laboratories with a variety of laboratory products, services and processes.
With thirty years of experience in Laboratory Operations, Quality Management Systems, (ISO 9001, ISO 15189) Regulatory Affairs (State, CLIA, CAP, FDA), and Process improvement (Six Sigma, Lean) she Collaborates with clients to provide Practical, Effective, Efficient and Compliant Processes to Achieve Product and Service Excellence.
Mojgan Manshadi is board certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) and is a Six Sigma Trained Black Belt.
She began her career at hospital based laboratories where she served as a CLS rotating in Chemistry, Hematology and Special Chemistry departments. She gained her reference Laboratory experience starting at Nichols Institute and Quest Diagnostics laboratories where she played a critical role establishing Nichols Coagulation laboratory, implementing their Quality Management System, ISO 9001 Certifications and completing major Six Sigma projects. In 2003 she joined US LABs in Irvine, California as the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. After the acquisition of US LABS by Laboratory Corporation of America, she served as the Vice President of Quality for the Esoteric Business Division where she standardized a universal Quality Management System throughout the Division. Her most recent positions were Vice President/General Manager of USLABS, Vice President of Quality and Business Alignment of the Oncology Division of Laboratory Corporation of America.
Patricia Hopper has her B.A. degree in Home Economics from California State University, Long Beach and her Master of Teaching from Azusa Pacific University. Mrs. Hopper was a teacher for 35 years and taught for Orange Unified School District. Mrs. Hopper has served on several Board seats and was a member with Santiago Middle School, English as a Second Language and Children’s Theater of La Mirada. Mrs. Hopper is now volunteering her time as a Board Member for Friends of Family Health Center.
John brings a wealth of modern perspectives and outlooks to the board, as having just completed his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern California. His education includes training in public health research methods and community health promotion and interventions all with a concentration in global health. In addition, his expertise in the biological sciences garnered through his Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative biology will be invaluable to the board as we explore a variety of solutions to the challenges facing the health of the southern California community.
